British Applied College is searching for a dedicated and accomplished Civil Engineering Faculty member with expertise in Construction Management/ join our esteemed academic community. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in enriching our curriculum, driving innovative research, and equipping students to excel in the field of Construction Management or other.
Responsibilities:
Curriculum Enhancement: Develop and refine course materials and curriculum focused on Civil Engineering -Construction, ensuring alignment with the latest industry practices and emerging global trends.
Teaching Excellence: Deliver captivating lectures, workshops, and case study discussions that impart practical insights and skills in Construction Management to undergraduate students.
Research and Publications: Engage in research in the field of Civil Engineering (Management), publishing findings in distinguished journals and presenting at reputable conferences to advance knowledge and scholarship.
Student Mentorship: Provide mentorship and guidance to students aspiring to specialize in Project Management, Risk Management, Building Information Modelling aiding their academic growth and career development.
Industry Partnerships: Establish and nurture relationships with industry partners, fostering opportunities for internships, research collaborations, and guest lectures from Civil Engineering experts.
Departmental Engagement: Participate actively in departmental meetings, academic committees, and contribute to the holistic development of the Construction and Built Environment School.
Community Outreach: Contribute to fostering awareness of Construction Management through workshops, seminars, and community engagement programs.
Requirements:
Education: A Masters in Civil Engineering specialized in Construction Management or other
Expertise: Proven expertise and research background in areas such as BIM, Project Management, Risk Management, AI in Construction Management, Scheduling and planning, etc.
Teaching Experience: Prior experience instructing courses related to Construction Management at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels is advantageous.
Research Track Record: A strong publication record in reputed journals and conferences within the field of Civil Engineering.
Industry Experience: Practical experience in strategic roles within diverse industries or collaboration with Construction Management practitioners is desirable.
Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to students effectively.
Collaboration: A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and foster interdisciplinary research collaborations.
