Primary Objectives / Responsibilities


Technical Competency


• Supports adherence to generally accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
• Supports the standardization of specifications, drawings, and document templates.
• Contributes to the understanding of technical knowledge, legal requirements, and customer specifications whenever viable and lawful.
• Uses local/global standards to support technical excellence.
• Supports the processes for checking, peer reviews, and incorporation of comments and findings.
• Prepares design specifications for Civil and Structural works.
• Prepare the production of detailed designs and drawings, specifications, data, calculations and reports and follow required checking procedures.
• Ensures that the documentation for the design remains accurate and current during the development of the design.


Project Execution


• Knows the discipline scope/cost/time requirements, assists the team in meeting expectations, and coordinates with other disciplines to ensure project success.
• Supports management of project change and progress for the discipline, and works with the Project Management Team to take corrective actions regarding any issues, staffing requirements, scope changes, progressing, or other events that could affect project completion and/or profitability.
• Plans discipline quality, monitors quality activities, squad checking, drives and participates in squad checking, recommends improvements, and takes action where required.
• Provide technical support within the discipline team, liaise with the project team, and consult with relevant resources as required.
• Coordinate review and approval of design and interfaces on client requirements and specifications.
• Conduct studies, analyses and recommend actions.
• Identifies opportunities to solve problems through applying engineering knowledge.


Project Deliverables


• Gathers data from multiple sources and prepares engineering studies, analyses, calculations, etc.
• Determines technical issues, defines alternate solutions, establishes pros/cons for multiple solutions, and makes recommendations through official project documents such as technical queries, technical deviations, etc.
• Creates final documentation incorporating all relevant information and pursues customer approval.
• Perform discipline-specific engineering services such as:


a) Identify and report changes to project scope;



b) Contribute to appropriate studies, analyses, and recommended actions.



c) Assist with the preparation of detailed designs and drawings, specifications, data, calculations, and reports.



d) Assist in procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.


• Update existing calculations and drawings for foundations, area drainage, roads, buildings, sumps/pits, etc.
• Design and support designers to prepare civil drawings and documents for steel structures, such as pipe racks, equipment platforms, sheds, etc.

Job Specific Knowledge :


• Demonstrate a visible and active commitment to HSE management and its associated requirements in a project environment.
• Has an intermediate understanding of regulations, codes, and industry-standard practices
• Has a good understanding of onshore & offshore engineering practices applicable to Civil Structural design for oil and gas facilities.
• Experience in brownfields & asset services type projects/contracts.
• Effective technical and practical engineering skills, and able to consistently deliver quality, accurate, and timely work to Worley and its clients.
• A good working knowledge of the fundamental requirements of the Civil Structural discipline, and the basic requirements of other disciplines.
• A good working knowledge of applicable local standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
• Competent in the use of relevant software and Civil Structural discipline-specific software.
• Experienced in design specifications for reinforced concrete, buildings, earthworks, roads and underground networks, piling works, etc.
• Experienced in developing calculations for reinforced concrete structures, pipe racks, pipe bridges, equipment & machine foundations, piling works, and drain collection systems, etc.
• Familiar with Industrial/International Codes and Standards BS, UBC, IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE, etc.
• Working knowledge of civil/structural software such as STAAD-Pro (Connect edition), Mat 3D, foundation 3D, Autocad, and others

Industry Specific Experience :


• Minimum years in Civil and Structural engineering experience in oil and gas onshore projects
• Minimum years of engineering experience in the same or similar industry, including experience in multi-disciplinary projects and teams.
• Good knowledge of discipline design/engineering with sufficient experience in different discipline areas.
• Good knowledge of civil design on structures such as pipe rack, buildings and shelters etc.


Education - Qualifications, Accreditation, Training :


• Full-Time Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university
