The Joinery & Fit-Out Civil Engineer will be responsible for overseeing, managing, and coordinating all joinery, woodwork, and interior fit-out projects to ensure high-quality delivery, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with engineering standards. This role involves liaising with various departments, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth execution of projects from inception to completion.
Project Planning & Coordination
• Collaborate with project teams to develop project plans, schedules, and budgets for joinery and fit-out work.
• Coordinate with architects, designers, contractors, and suppliers to clarify project requirements and ensure materials and resources are available.
• Supervise joinery and fit-out activities to ensure compliance with project timelines and milestones.
Design Review & Quality Control
• Review joinery and fit-out design drawings and specifications for accuracy, feasibility, and compliance with standards.
• Oversee quality checks and material inspections to ensure that work meets required standards and specifications.
• Address technical challenges and offer solutions to meet design and quality requirements.
Site Supervision & Installation
• Manage on-site execution of joinery and fit-out works, ensuring that work adheres to approved plans, schedules, and safety protocols.
• Conduct regular site inspections to assess progress, identify issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure that installations are completed to high standards and align with client expectations.
Resource Management
• Manage and allocate manpower, equipment, and materials to meet project requirements and deadlines.
• Track project costs and budgets related to joinery and fit-out work, taking corrective actions to avoid budget overruns.
• Source and negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers for joinery and fit-out-related materials and services.
Health & Safety Compliance
• Enforce health and safety policies and ensure that all work is conducted in a safe and compliant manner.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections, addressing any issues to maintain a safe work environment.
Client Interaction & Reporting
• Act as the primary contact for clients regarding joinery and fit-out matters, ensuring that all client requirements and changes are implemented effectively.
• Prepare and submit regular project status reports, documenting progress, budgets, quality, and any variations from the original project scope.
