PURPOSE OF THE JOB:The Civil 3d Modeler plays a critical role in the design, planning, coordination, and implementation of infrastructure projects. Their work ensures that utility systems are accurately represented, comply with standards, and are efficiently integrated into the overall project, leading to successful project outcomes.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and maintain 3D models using Autodesk Civil 3D for a variety of infrastructure projects, including wet and dry utilities.
Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other team members to understand project requirements and provide technical support throughout the design and construction phases.
Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, and plans based on project specifications and design standards.
Perform clash detection and resolve conflicts in design models to ensure seamless integration of various utility systems.
Coordinate with project managers to ensure timely delivery of models and drawings, adhering to project schedules and deadlines.
Conduct quality control checks on models and drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with industry standards.
Assist in the preparation of quantity take-offs and cost estimates based on the 3D models.
Stay updated on the latest industry trends, software advancements, and best practices in 3D modeling and infrastructure design.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior modelers and CAD technicians.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Civil 3D modeling for both wet and dry utility infrastructure projects.
Proven experience in modeling wet and dry utilities, including stormwater, wastewater, water supply, electrical, telecommunications, and gas systems.
Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and other relevant software such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Revit.
Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and project lifecycle.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively communicate with stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of local building codes, standards, and regulations related to utilities and infrastructure.
