Chinese Translator and Supervisor

Professional Description:

The Chinese Translator directly reports to Site Engineer and is responsible for support of the Marine Dredger communication between Chinese crew members by being able to read, comprehend and translate Chinese and ideas to English language while retaining the core ideas and information from the original texts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides both simultaneous and consecutive interpretation support from marine crew (Chinese) members to Site Engineer. Translates Chinese intermediate to advanced level Chinese foreign language periodicals into good grammatical English and making reports based on crew ship operations. Transcribes and translates Chinese foreign language into good grammatical English. Scans intercepted data and determines as pertinent or non-pertinent to mission requirements. Participates in analytical meetings or conferences when applicable for translation purpose. Provides quality control of junior linguist transcribed and translated Chinese material Educational and Qualifying Experience, Abilities, Skills, Licenses, Credentials: Non-native Linguist - Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent and five years of

relevant experience HSK Level 5

. Native Linguist - Requires native level skills and five years of experience. Must have a solid understanding of computers to articulate technical reports from the operations team. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
This job role will be on a Marine Dredger stationed on the shore and accommodation and food will be provided on-board. We are looking for someone with a technical background. for this permanent role, who has understanding of operations.

This is an immediate requirement hence we are looking for someone who can join us immediately. Preferably on Notice period or Cancelled VISA.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to AED11,000.00 per month
