As well, we are faster and more flexible in meeting customer requirements.Job Summary:Consult on, specify, devise, plan and perform environmental testing for the mechanical engineering department. Interpret test results and influence and improve designs under test for optimal performance. Manage, maintain and improve the R&D test facilities.Key Accountabilities:
Develop test plans for parts/assemblies through development, qualification and acceptance testing
Consult with design team to define test conditions and test methods during the product lifecycle
Evaluate the performance of mechanical equipment against set performance requirements. (Analyzing tested structures, fluid systems, and mechanisms for positive margin.)
Influence and improve designs based on testing and interpretation of results;
Define instrumentation for test setup, analyzing responses and correlating with analysis/predictions
Design test jigs/stand/equipment concepts and authorize fabrication drawings, wiring schematics, and instrumentation lists
Supervise the integration of jigs or test stands including fabrication, mechanical assembly and data/control systems
Assemble and disassemble flight hardware and test equipment as needed
Further develop and maintain in-house testing facilities
Mentor and monitor mechanical engineers;
Lead Junior Engineers to facilitate projects and perform responsibilities designated by the Engineer.
Experience & Education Qualifications:
At least 21 yr (NTC5), 17 yr (T3), 15 yr (T4 / B.Tech) or 10 yr (M.Tech) of related experience, preferably, in the aerospace industry
NTC5, T3, B.Tech / T4 or M.Tech Diploma or higher and/or equivalent technical qualification in mechanical or aerospace engineering
At least 10 yr of Test and Evaluation experience, in the aerospace or defense industry Knowledge in the application of environmental testing in the design process
A thorough understanding of defense product development and testing
Visual and spatial awareness, attention to detail, problem solving
Strong CAE, math and Product Data Management skills
Technical communication (Written and oral.) with technical and non-technical personnel, suppliers and customers
