Our client is a government entity who is responsible for implementing the government program to support the presence of Emiratis in the private sector "Nafis", setting a long-term strategy for training and qualifying Emirati talent, and developing guidance programs for Emiratis to raise the Emiratisation rate in the private sector, as well as creating initiatives, projects, and programs for training and recruiting Emiratis in the private sector.We are hiring a Chief Researcher - Labour and Employment (Emirati Only) who is expected to work under the overall guidance of Policies and Studies Manager to conduct and lead analysis of economic data and trends while supporting and providing key economic policy reports pertaining to Emiratization agenda. The Labour and Employment Chief Researcher will be accountable for producing reports on Emiratization-related labor market topics in the UAE and coordinating research projects related to labour and employment in partnership with key internal and external stakeholders.Key Accountabilities:
Create essential reports that offer insights and direction for the broader system, with a focus on enhancing economic growth and the employment status of the UAE workforce.
Propose research ideas and create in-depth research on labor market, oversee the execution of evidence-based research for economic and labour market policy
Develop reports that facilitate workforce planning and the connection between education strategies and labor market demand
Support, lead and guide Economic Policy Researcher in converting insights and data into research materials through MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and other similar tools that help deliver actionable content to senior leadership. Collaborate with external stakeholders to develop comprehensive reports that support strategic workforce planning and facilitate effective alignment between education and labour market demands, while providing actionable recommendations and insights to optimize the workforce and ensure sustainable development.
Prepare reports and conduct socio-economic impact assessments related to the impact of broader economic reform, education, and other socio-economic initiatives and programs on the labour market and Emiratization
Provide the needed support in publishing regular reports that outline the overall outcomes of programs aimed at Emiratization
Conduct baselining and benchmarking exercises, extract best practices and key insights from developed research and present the developed materials to the senior leadership
Support the Innovation, Research and Studies team in conducting primary and secondary data collection
Act as a trusted policy advisor to the Policies & Studies Manager, leveraging policy-based research and analysis expertise. Provide informed recommendations and guidance on pressing UAE labour market requirements, the skills agenda, and other crucial labour policy matters, shaping policies and strategies that address current and future challenges.
Perform other duties as assigned by Policies & Studies Manager.
Requirments:
6-8 years of experience in Economics, Labour Market Analysis, Social Sector Policies, Employment Creation
Proficiency in compiling, analyzing, and reporting data to provide comprehensive analyses of the UAEs labour market and forecast future labour market trends.
Advanced proficiency in utilizing innovative data analytics techniques
The capacity to design, develop, and evaluate policy interventions
Possessing a domain knowledge in one area of expertise, particularly in the context of the Middle East, is preferred.
The ability to tackle complex, unstructured problems in a rigorous, analytical fashion with a problem-solving approach characterized by critical thinking, attention to detail, and a systematic methodology that ensures comprehensive analysis and well-grounded solutions.
Proficiency in using Microsoft applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and the ability to translate data from Excel files into clear, concise presentations for the Leadership Team.
