The Role
We are seeking an experienced Chief Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Al Ain, UAE. This pivotal role involves leading the quantity surveying department, managing all aspects of cost management, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects within budget. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction and engineering, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record in managing complex projects. Responsibilities: - Lead and manage the quantity surveying team, providing mentorship and guidance to junior staff. - Oversee the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for various construction projects. - Develop and implement effective cost management strategies to optimize project profitability. - Conduct thorough risk assessments and feasibility studies to inform project decisions. - Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution. - Review and analyze tender submissions, contracts, and procurement processes to ensure compliance and value for money. - Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. - Monitor project progress and expenditure, identifying any variances and implementing corrective actions as necessary. - Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and company standards throughout all project phases. - Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on project status, financial performance, and departmental activities.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional qualification (e.g., MRICS) is preferred. - Minimum 20 years of experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. - Proven experience managing large-scale construction projects from inception to completion. - Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes, and cost management principles. - Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team. - Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with a strong ability to build relationships with stakeholders. - Proficient in quantity surveying software and tools, as well as MS Office Suite. - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a detail-oriented approach. - Fluent in English; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
