:IRIS Executives, leader in Emiratization and Executive Search, is urgently looking for a Chief Internal Audit Officer for a bank in Dubai.Job Title: Chief Internal Audit OfficerJob Location: DubaiRemuneration: CompetitiveJob Responsibilities:The Chief Internal Audit Officer leads the independent department providing assurance to the board of Director regarding risk management, control and governance processes. The Audit Committee and Board of Directors expect Chief Internal Audit Officer to be able to provide meaningful insights and unbiased opinions which add value and improve the Bank operations. The Chief Internal Audit Officer has the overall responsibility for the Internal Audit function and is responsible for providing the overall auditing services and strategies through assisting the management in monitoring compliance and improving the efficiency of internal control policies and procedures. Managing across both the Business and Technology audit teams, the role will build the audit methodology and tackle the growing needs to meet the regulatory and business expansion plans. This role will be continuously building and maintaining key relationships with stakeholders, establishing a culture of engagement while adding value. Working closely with the audit committee, they will spearhead the plans of audit, drive the strategy and implement the new methodology across the integrated audit. Whilst future-proofing the processes, this role will also lead the team and partner the business leaders to understand and manage the risk of the new growing bank.
Examine and evaluate the effectiveness and adequacy of the internal control systems and processes based on inherent and residual risk parameters.
Conduct timely risk-based internal audits complying with annual audit plan.
Perform review of the effectiveness and application of risk assessment methodologies and risk management procedures
Perform review of the Capital Adequacy and related ICAAP and Stress testing requirements including all Pillar 3 disclosures in line with Basel 3 requirements.
Review financial and management information systems, including the electronic banking services and electronic information system.
Review financial reports and accounting records for accuracy and reliability.
Perform review of means, techniques, or methods of safeguarding assets
Perform review of system applied by the bank in evaluating its capital vs estimated risk.
Perform evaluation of the economy and operational efficiency
Perform test on both the functioning of specific internal control procedures and transactions.
Perform review on established systems for ensuring codes of conduct, compliance with regulatory and legal requirements, and the implementation of procedures and policies.
To carry out tests on the timeliness and reliability of the regulatory reporting.
Perform special investigations as required.
To qualify for this role, you must have:
15 years of work experience in Audit in the banking sector.
Preferably working as the most senior person in the Audit department of a bank, alternatively the second person of a larger bank may be considered.
Strong understanding of end-to-end Banking processes and policies regulations of UAE Central Bank and other related governing authorities.
Deep understanding of the concept of process and risk management; and banking and auditing.
Experience of working with high profile Board Audit Committees.
Have the ability and emotional intelligence of communicating clearly and working closely with senior management levels.
Strong decision making, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong aptitude for easy and quick learning of audit, analytical, or/and facilitation skill.
Interest in digital assets such as crypto, blockchain.
