Summary:
The role is for our client who are Government Entity. A leading innovation hub in Sub-Saharan Africa, focused on driving technological advancement and fostering a thriving innovation ecosystem, is seeking a dynamic and visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for a six-month temporary contract. The CEO will play a critical role in managing operations, setting strategic direction, and driving growth across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the innovation landscape and demonstrate the ability to steer the organization towards its full potential, ensuring the hub's impact and sustainability.
Responsibilities:
Executive Leadership:
Oversee executive operations to ensure alignment with the organization's mission and objectives.
Lead the development and execution of a strategic plan to guide the organization's growth.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with industry leaders, investors, and key stakeholders.
Make critical decisions on corporate operations, resource management, and performance evaluation.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Provide oversight on financial management, including performance reviews and resource allocation.
Strategic Planning:
Collaborate with the Board and executive team to shape and implement long-term strategic plans for expansion.
Identify and assess new business opportunities and investment avenues.
Provide high-level executive insights and analysis to support strategic decisions.
Focus on the growth trajectory of the organization, ensuring a sustainable and profitable future.
Team Management:
Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing executive team.
Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the organization.
Provide guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities to ensure team success.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Engineering, IT, or a science-related field from an accredited institution.
Master's degree in Business Leadership, Management, or a related field.
Experience and Skills:
Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in senior executive roles, ideally within the innovation, R&D, bio-economy, or technology sectors.
At least 3 years of exposure to emerging technologies and related sectors.
Experience in managing innovation hubs, science parks, or Special Economic Zones is highly desirable.
Strong global networks with practical experience in governance, business development, and investment attraction.
Entrepreneurial mindset with a comprehensive understanding of the innovation ecosystem.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
A proven track record in corporate finance, performance management, and negotiation with international investors.
Strong leadership capabilities, with the ability to motivate and guide teams toward organizational goals.
High ethical standards and a commitment to integrity in all actions.
Experience in leading business turnarounds, restructuring, and managing growth strategies.
