As well, we are faster and more flexible in meeting customer requirements.Job Summary:The purpose of this position is to act as a technical leader of guidance and control systems development and implementation. This will include designing and developing the process to bring about guidance and control systems that will meet the performance requirements of Halcon. The job incumbent is also responsible to ensure the validity of technical work and improve analysis processes while supporting the Department manager in managing the performance of the department.Key Accountabilities:
Contribute effectively in the establishment of Guidance & Control capabilities, its infrastructure, tools and labs
Act as the technical advisor and point of contact for Guidance & Control projects
Derive and maintain guidance and control requirements and specifications
Ensure all project milestones are achieved in accordance with the project master plan
Manage any of the departmental technical capabilities not limited to Simulation, Guidance & Control, Tracking system, Software Development [SIL and PIL], Lab Testing and Performance Verification and Mission planning
Provide advice based on analysis and feasibility studies with respect to the soundness of weapon system concepts
Clearly communicate program and engineering issues to internal and external stakeholders
Perform conceptual missile guidance and control design studies taking into account interactions and requirements arising from subsystems
Develop departmental manuals and qualify analysis procedures to reduce uncertainty in schedule and development risk
Participate in planning, execution and post processing of modelling and simulation activities, hardware-in-the-loop tests, flight test activities (including pre-flight preparation to post-flight analysis) and other analysis methods
Guide development activities towards solutions that are economic to manufacture and can support long term vision and objectives of the department
Conduct future investigations on (but not limited to) cutting edge technologies and implementation of Futuristic Methodologies and Algorithms
Stay current on advances in technologies that may provide opportunities to a project or broader company objectives
Act as the technical mentor for the team, guiding and developing their problem solving capability and coaching and mentoring them while they execute tasks of increasing complexity
Experience & Education Qualifications:
Minimum: 17+ years of experience in successfully combining modelling, simulation and estimation methods in the design of guidance and flight control systems. Work experience in an interdisciplinary development environment is required.
Minimum: Bachelor\'s degree or higher in Engineering or an Aerospace related field of study with an emphasis on Automatic Control Systems.
Preferred: Experience in flight test data reduction is beneficial.
Preferred: Detailed knowledge of the engineering discipline and the development of guided weapon systems.
