Chief Accountant / Senior Accountant Retail

with experience in Bahrain

to join our team and oversee our finance operations.

Job Summary:

The Chief Accountant / Senior Accountant Retail will be responsible for managing all aspects of the company's accounting and financial reporting. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax compliance. The ideal candidate will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data, provide strategic financial guidance, and support the company's overall financial health.

Responsibilities:



1. Financial Transactions & Records.

- Monitor daily sales transaction against shop report.

- Identify discrepancies in sales records and resolve issues.

- Recording daily expenses and purchases including FA.

- Maintain general ledger accounts and reconcile balances.

- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable for intercompany.

2. Bank Reconciliation & Cash Management.

- Reconcile bank statements with internal records, Cash deposits and Credit card settlements.

- Monitor cash flow and ensure proper fund allocation.

3. Financial Reporting.

- Perform month end closing.

- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

- Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and retail industry.

- Assist in internal/external audits and financial reviews.

4. Inventory & Cost Control.

- Track inventory costs and manage stock valuation.

- Check and write off stock surpluses if any.

- Cogs and negative stock control.

5. Payroll & Expense Management.

- Process payroll solution in the system for monthly salary.

- Employee business expenses reimbursement.

6. Taxation & Compliance.

- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and file necessary returns.

- Prepare and submit tax returns, coordinating with external auditors and tax authorities in case of tax queries.

Qualifications & Skills:



- Knowledge of Bahrain legislation.

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- 3-5 years' experience in retail accounting or general accounting in Bahrain.

- Proficiency in accounting software, preferable in 1C and advanced Excel skills.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

- Understanding of tax laws and financial regulations.
