Job Title: Chief AccountantLocation: United Arab Emirates, DubaiJob Type: Full-timeJob Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Chief Accountant with a Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification for our accounting and finance operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial supervision, compliance with IFRS, internal control, and consolidated financial reporting.Key Responsibilities
Supervise all accounting and financial operations, including the preparation of accounting entries, bookkeeping, and maintaining accurate records for monthly financial statements.
Verify cost assignments, allocations, and apportionments to retail stores and other departments/divisions.
Review and reconcile entries as needed.
Ensure monthly financial results adhere to IFRS and group accounting policies.
Oversee and monitor subsidiary transactions, supporting the preparation of consolidated financial reports and ensuring timely submissions of monthly/quarterly financial statements and annual audits..
Assist in tax return preparation in filing, and liaise with external/internal auditors and financial institutions as required.
Develop standard reporting templates and metrics.
Provide analysis and reporting, including profitability and unit cost analysis.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory
Proven experience in financial supervision, accounting operations, and consolidated reporting.
Strong knowledge of IFRS and group accounting policies.
Expertise in cost allocation, reconciliation, and intercompany transactions.
Experience in establishing internal control procedures and safeguarding company assets.
Proficiency in preparing tax returns and liaising with auditors.
Strong analytical skills and ability to support strategic decision-making.
Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
Education:
Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 2-3 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management.
Extensive experience in cost allocation, reconciliation, IFRS compliance, and consolidated financial reporting.
Prior experience supervising accounting teams and handling intercompany transactions.
Technological Proficiency:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
Familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems is a plus.
