Job Description

Robert Half are working with a company based in Dubai, looking to hire a Chief Financial Officer.The RoleReporting to the CEO, the CFO is responsible for formulating financial policy and plans for the Group, providing overall direction for the accounting, tax, budget, credit, and treasury functions, and directs activities associated with the security and investment of the organization\'s assets and funds. The CFO ensures that financial transactions, policies, and procedures meet the organization\'s short? and long term objectives, and regulatory body requirements.
  • Assume a key role in the evaluation of short and long-term financial objectives.
  • Lead the development and evaluation of strategic financial goals.
  • Engage with current investors for funding sourcing and identify new equity/debt partnership opportunities.
  • Source capital for projects through banks and financial institutions.
  • Assist the Board in raising capital to meet organizational goals.
  • Maintain strong relationships with senior executives, offering business solutions and financial insights.
  • Advise on financial implications of business activities and strategic decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international financial and tax reporting laws.
  • Oversee legal and commercial compliance across all entities within the group.
  • Optimize cash management and bank relationships to enhance cash positions.
  • Ensure tax compliance and efficiency, including the management of tax planning and strategies.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for future projects with comprehensive financial evaluations.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to enhance financial performance and seize business opportunities.
  • Lead negotiations with banks, external authorities, and stakeholders to align with financial goals.
  • Finalize deals effectively, ensuring they support the company\'s strategic financial objectives.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Provide insights on financial trends, forecasts, and budgetary planning.
  • Ensure the integrity of all financial information.
  • Oversee the accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Manage the preparation of all financial reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Provide actionable financial insights to support executive and operational decision-making.
  • Oversee the selection and implementation of financial ERP systems.
  • Ensure the continuous improvement and efficiency of financial systems and processes.
  • Develop and monitor operational and capital budgets, implementing cost containment strategies as needed. Analyze financial information to identify trends and recommend strategies for financial performance enhancement.
  • Lead external audits, ensuring accurate and timely representation of information.
  • Optimize bank relationships and cash management strategies.
REQUIREMENTSThe Candidate
  • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) including strong technical accounting skills and application of standards in practical manner
  • Strong decision making and critical thinking skills
  • Strong people leadership and relationship builder
  • Excellent ability to influence with a collaborative nature, strong communication/social skills
  • Highly motivated teammate and self-starter
  • Highly analytical (ability to take care of sophisticated issues, break down into component pieces in order to analyze appropriately)
  • Proven strategic thinking ability to apply a "bottom line", results-oriented approach
  • A professional accounting designation and qualifications along with at least 10 years of senior managerial experience in fast growing, professional entrepreneurial (publicly listed) company preferred (where systems/process building was required)
  • Experience in taking a company to IPO
  • Post-qualification experience in a public accounting firm and/or financial reporting role in a publicly accountable company
  • Strong technical background and working knowledge of external reporting requirements and IFRS for publicly traded companies, including consolidation, business combinations, foreign currency translation, revenue recognition and ICFR compliance.
  • Proven track record to multi-task high-volume workloads with finance-related projects to achieve results and advance work plans
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy is critical
  • Positive mind-set, future oriented and keen to make a difference
  • Ability to generate respect and trust from staff and external constituencies
