Job Description

A Catering Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of catering operations, ensuring the successful planning and execution of events. The specific duties and responsibilities may vary depending on the size and nature of the catering business, but here are common tasks associated with the role:

Event Planning:

Collaborate with clients to understand their event requirements, including budget, theme, and dietary preferences.

Plan and organize logistics for events, such as weddings, corporate functions, conferences, and parties.

Menu Development:

Work with chefs and culinary staff to create diverse and appealing menus.

Consider dietary restrictions, cultural preferences, and budget constraints when designing menus.

Client Communication:

Act as the main point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, providing updates, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Manage client expectations and handle feedback or concerns.

Staff Management:

Recruit, train, and supervise catering staff, including chefs, servers, and support staff.

Create work schedules and assign responsibilities for each team member.

Budgeting and Financial Management:

Develop and manage budgets for each event, ensuring cost-effectiveness and profitability.

Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors to secure favorable terms.

Logistics and Operations:

Coordinate and oversee the setup and breakdown of events, ensuring that all details are executed according to plan.

Manage equipment and inventory, ensuring everything is in working order and well-maintained.

Quality Control:

Ensure the quality of food and service meets or exceeds client expectations.

Conduct regular inspections to maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and safety.

Compliance and Permits:

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food handling guidelines, and other relevant industry standards.

Obtain necessary permits for events and ensure adherence to legal requirements.

Sales and Marketing:

Promote catering services to attract new clients and retain existing ones.

Participate in marketing initiatives, including social media campaigns and promotional events.

Problem-solving:

Address and resolve any issues or challenges that may arise during events, such as logistical problems, staffing issues, or client concerns.

Record Keeping:

Maintain detailed records of client preferences, event details, and financial transactions.

Use feedback from events to continually improve services.

Catering Managers need to be highly organized, possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and have a good understanding of culinary trends and customer preferences. Additionally, they should be adaptable and able to handle the dynamic and fast-paced nature of the catering industry.

UAE experience with the same field in hospitality

UAE driving license

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
