Position Purpose
  • The Category Merchandiser will be working on maximizing the sales and growth of the Skincare category while being fully responsible of the permanent and non-permanent merchandising in all stores of Sephora ME.
  • She/he will ensure that the products appear at the point of sale and online at the appropriate time and correct quantities bearing in mind Sephoras overall retail and category strategy.

Key Accountabilities Assortment Management and Merchandizing
  • Plan and manage product lifecycle, and prepare sales and stock plans under supervision of Category Director
  • Ensures proper stock levels in stores and online for display and sales for animations and thematic
  • Secure planograms of allocated brands and ensure full merchandizing visibility
  • Implement and maintain regional assortment on SKU level and manage allocated catalogue of brands portfolio.
  • Maintain Skincare calendar including launches, expansion and opening of new doors, and discontinuation strategies
  • Prepare sales forecast on SKU level by country in alignment with brand budget. Propose the most relevant product mix.
  • Monitor stock based on forecasts and flag overstock situations to management, particularly monitoring slow sellers and suggest action plan
  • Analyze every aspect of the brand performance (bestselling points) and ensure that they reach their full potential.
  • Conduct quarterly brand assortment analysis and propose action plan on optimization of skus and merchandising
  • Ensure updated and clean assortments for all brands on a monthly basis
  • Maintain regional assortment at SKU level and share with internal stakeholders ongoing
  • Ensure alignment on Minis & More Skincare assortment with brands and internal stakeholders
  • Provide Supply Chain sell out forecasts on SKU level by country and maintain neat forecast tracker
  • Propose clearance action plan on SKU level for key promotional activations
  • Support stock returns in a timely manner
  • Brief in price increase/adjustments to relevant stakeholders as per process and timelines
  • Conduct Price reviews to adjust current portfolio RSPs
  • Initiate and follow up on the regulation and compliance of all new skus
  • Plan activations, launches, animations, and marketing activities with brand partners and internal teams for omni channel implementation
  • Develop and manage training support with brands and education department.
  • Merchandizing tracking on the Skincare Buzz destination with brands and retail for best in class implementation
  • Track, roll out and implement Skincare Buzz merchandizing modules

Omnichannel and Marketing
  • Coordinate with relevant teams on brand activation for Ecom visibility, content, and instore animations. Attend the weekly meeting to set M+1 priorities
  • Securing optimized brand assets for activations and animations
  • Secure samples and gift quantities for ecommerce activations (GWP, PWP)
  • Select brand participation for PR events as per Sephora guidelines (gifting, stand)
  • Coordinate with PR on annual seeding and PR plans with brand partners
  • Ensure timely implementation of digital campaigns and thematics
  • Secure samples and gifts quantities for Beauty Pass activations and ensure timely implementation
  • Define products to be highlighted in Beauty Pass emailers, in line with category priorities
  • Coordinate and align with social team on calendar priorities and activations such as competitions, gifts, etc.
  • Attend and participate in weekly omni and marketing meetings
  • Liaise with Ecommerce team for marketing support (assets, activations) and ensure its timely delivery from third parties
  • Provide regular and timely updates on the digital activations and opportunities that occur on a monthly and repeated basis.
  • Social: Provide launch details on monthly basis to feed the social media calendar based on brand priorities and exclusivities. Share strategic input to drive share of voice for Skincare on social channels, propose relevant activations that will support the launch and the drive
  • Brand Animation: Build full 360 plan for strategic launches and lock all elements 2 months prior to the launch and communicate in timely manner to activation/omnichannel team for implementation and execution
  • CRM: Ensure successful participation of brands to CRM masterclasses and store events

E-commerce
  • Collaborate closely with E-merchandizing team on navigation updates and brand pages
  • Ensure that brands and products are listed on time for launch (or pre-launched)
  • Define a sampling strategy with the Omnichannel team in line with Skincare priorities and secure those from the brands
  • Share Ecom visibility priorities monthly

Education
  • Partner closely with Education team and brands to secure relevant training moments that will support the growth of the category and the desired fastest growing segments

Communication & Reporting
  • Prepares monthly category and brand performance KPIs defined by category Director
  • Tracks monthly brand budgets
  • Tracks monthly Skincare Buzz performance and contribution to Skincare Category
  • Regular meetings and communication with brands to align on brand performance and how to achieve common objectives
  • Provide post launch reports on key launches by SKU level
  • Conduct:
    • Monthly reviews on sales performance and open operational topics (with brands and for Monthly Internal review)
  • Quarterly business reviews on B&M and Ecom performance by country and SKU level, recapping marketing activations with top10 Skincare brands
  • Monthly reviews on forecasted upcoming new brands & new products
Coordinate internally across all departments for brand related topics and ensure timely communication for launch activations Share merchandizing updates on timely basis with the Retail team
Skills, Experience and Personality
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in merchandizing or buying
  • Interest and passion in beauty: following trends and updates
  • Excellent Analytical and interpretive skills.
  • Strong communication (written and oral) and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both autonomously and as part of a team.
