Job Description

:Key Responsibilities : * Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans for the assigned product category to achieve sales targets, increase market share, and drive profitability.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape within the category. Utilize insights to make informed decisions and stay ahead of market changes.
  • Assortment Planning: Determine the product assortment, including selection, pricing, and placement, based on consumer demand, market trends, and company objectives.
  • Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors to negotiate favourable terms, ensure product quality, and secure competitive pricing. Continuously evaluate supplier performance and explore new partnerships.
  • Promotions and Marketing: Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional campaigns, advertising strategies, and marketing materials to drive product awareness and increase sales. Monitor campaign performance and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, forecasts, and replenishment strategies to minimize stockouts, reduce excess inventory, and optimize supply chain efficiency.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze category performance, sales data, and financial metrics to evaluate profitability, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams such as sales, finance, operations, and product development to align category strategies with overall business objectives and ensure effective execution.
  • Customer Engagement: Understand customer needs and preferences through feedback, surveys, and market research. Develop initiatives to enhance the customer experience and drive loyalty within the category.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor industry trends, competitive activities, and best practices to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within the category management process.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • Proven experience in category management, retail merchandising, or related roles.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in market research, financial analysis, and data interpretation.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement innovative solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software applications.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
