Position Purpose The Category Manager is responsible for managing the Mini's & More Destination and development of Sephora Favorites. He/ she is in charge of defining the category strategy in alignment with the business requirement, tracking & monitoring destination and assortment performance to ensure optimal merchandizing in store and online. He/She will be driving the sales and growth of the category and strategic development of Sephora Favorites.
Main Responsibilities:
Creating and developing long term plan and strategy for development for the Mini's & More destination
Define most relevant product mix and assortment at SKU level online and bricks
Drive differentiation through incubation of new brands that fit the minis & more strategy.
Define and set category objectives
Leading the category to optimize the product offer and related merchandizing maximizing sales through seamless customer journey
Review destination merchandizing and planogram on quarterly basis to ensure optimal assortments which deliver highest return of sales & profitability
Develop and implement Mini's & More calendar
Data analysis of category performance, ensuring strong understanding of SKU level performance by Store. Develop KPI reports to keep management up to date on the category development that includes core and extended assortment pillars
Provides sellout forecast to Supply Chain on SKU level and secure optimal stock levels and sell through.
Regular space performance review and subsequent adjustment for slow sellers and poor performing SKU's to deliver optimal productivity of the destination.
Monitor stock availability vs plan and ensure that it is in line with the forecast and evolving with the set limits of the rolling forecast. Manage stock and performance vs. set KPIs.
Maintain close coordination and communication with brands, categories and Sephora Collection for the implementation of assortment and brand distortion in line Sephora retail strategy.
Set the category guidelines and coach and control the retail team on the implementation through regular merchandizing workshops and pilot stores
Ensure Ecommerce platforms are properly catered to from a category level and have a clearly defined assortment in place
Secure and drive differentiation on a SKU level
Sephora Favorites:
Initiate and establish yearly launch calendar for Sephora Favorites cross category in line with Sephora retail strategy and tone of voice
Defend and maintain minimum required profitability
Develop and implement permanent favorites fixture in store and elevate destination online
Define set objectives and have a dedicated Ecom strategy
Drive Share of Voice by partnering up with brands fueling differentiation
Build a strong offer for KCPs and Trend Animations and oversee the 360 implementations (content, PR, CRM...)
Communication and Reporting:
Report monthly KPI's on Turnover vs budget and development on category
Quarterly Category Review on category performance building on monthly KPI's including animation, thematics, PR and CRM Results.
Performance tracking on achievements vs budgets
Develop strong working relationship with marketing, categories, Ecom, supply chain and retail is essential
Liaise and cooperate with all different functional departments ensuring timely and proper execution of launches, thematic and merchandizing implementations.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND PERSONALITY
The successful candidate for this role has a passion for products and at least 3 years professional experience in category management and retail.
You have a growth mindset: open and eager to learn/try new things, as well as the adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
You have experience managing projects independently and managing stakeholders' expectations,
Excellent organization and communication skills (internal and external)
