Job Description

Position Overview:
The Carpenter is responsible for constructing, installing, repairing, and maintaining wooden fixtures and structures to ensure the property's aesthetic appeal and functionality.

Key responsibilities typically include:

• Repairing damaged furniture, fixtures, doors, windows, and wooden panels.
• Replacing or reinforcing broken or weak structures.
• Ensuring safety and functionality of all carpentry work
• Constructing custom furniture, cabinets, shelves, and partitions as required by the hotel.
• Installing wooden doors, decorative panels, and other wooden fixtures.
• Assembling prefabricated wooden or metal furniture.
• Performing routine inspections of wooden fixtures to identify potential issues.
• Conducting scheduled maintenance to prevent wear and tear.
• Maintaining a log of repairs and scheduled maintenance tasks.
• Working with other departments like engineering, housekeeping, and front office to address carpentry-related requests.
• Assisting in renovations and refurbishments as part of hotel projects.
• Ensuring compliance with safety standards and building codes.
• Using carpentry tools and equipment safely and maintaining them in good condition.
• Following the hotel's operational and safety policies.
• Enhancing the visual appeal of the hotel by creating or maintaining decorative wooden structures.
• Assisting in interior design-related carpentry tasks.
• Responding promptly to guest room repair requests related to carpentry.
• Maintaining the quality of public areas, ensuring fixtures and furniture meet high standards.
• Maintaining an inventory of carpentry tools, materials, and supplies.
• Ordering replacement materials when needed, in coordination with the engineering department.
• Being available to handle urgent repairs that could impact guest comfort or safety.

Qualification Requirements :

• Proven experience in carpentry and building maintenance, preferably within the hospitality industry.
• A formal trade qualification in carpentry; proof of qualification may be required.
• Proficiency in using carpentry tools and equipment, with a solid understanding of building codes and safety regulations.
• Capability to perform tasks that require physical strength, such as lifting heavy objects and working at heights.
• Good communication skills to effectively interact with team members and guests.
• Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays, as hotel operations require.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED2,000.00 - AED2,300.00 per month

Experience:

• hotel carpentry: 3 years (Required)
