The job holder is responsible for ensuring reliable and consistent platform of performance capability. He or she must lead and manage a shift ensuring all aspects of cargo handling is taken care from airside to landside. Compliance with customer requirements and company procedures, Safety, Security, Quality and Health & Safety are the key areas requiring vigilance, control, and continual process improvement. The job holder is the single point of contact on shift representing the management and has the authority to make decisions on operational matters that affect the quality, performance, or safety of the operations during the shift.
Accountabilities
Ensure strict compliance with all industry regulations, IATA guidelines, and company policies in cargo operations.
Implement and monitor company polices for adherence to safety, security, and quality standards at all times.
Oversee and manage all cargo operational activities, including planning, organizing, and coordinating cargo services.
Lead the implementation of the Operational Excellence program, ensuring continuous improvement in all areas of cargo operations.
Supervise and lead the cargo operations staff, overseeing recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
Foster a collaborative and cohesive working environment to effectively resolve conflicts and ensure efficient teamwork.
Develop and implement efficient cargo handling procedures to enhance overall operational efficiency and safety.
Monitor and assess cargo flow and handling processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures.
Coordinate with airlines and customers to ensure seamless cargo operations.
Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including EASG, ADAC, Police National Guard, Customs, through formalized methods.
Manage and resolve operational issues and complaints promptly.
Maintain accurate documentation as per regulatory and customer airline agreements (SHGA).
Execute tactical plans, achieving revenue, cost, safety, and service goals.
Stay updated on industry trends, tech advancements, and regulatory changes.
Lead projects and initiatives for continuous improvement in cargo operations.
Lead large teams to work cohesively, achieving operational excellence
Education & Experience
Educated to Bachelor\'s level or Diploma
8+ years of airport & cargo experience with 5+ of these in shift leadership roles managing large teams
Must have cargo handling/operations experience.
Awareness of IATA Cargo and DG rules and regulations.
Demonstrate knowledge of special products including pharmaceutical and perishable
