Job Summary and Purpose
Perform inspections of all Cargo Containment System during the construction of several LNG/LPG vessels at the shipbuilding site for the Nakilat newbuilding programs. Conduct scheduled inspections, tests, and demonstrations, in accordance with the shipbuilder's published schedule, including formal inspections and tests that may be scheduled outside of the main shipbuilding facility.
Accountabilities
Key Accountabilities: Conduct regular inspections and provide oversight of the shipbuilder's production of the vessel(s) under construction at the shipbuilding site. Specifically focus on construction of Cargo containment systems, barrier spaces, MARVS arrangements, LNG pump towers, and piping systems. This includes structural fitting, welding arrangements, hull outfit, and other related items as assigned by the Site Team Manager. Manage containment system construction matters including pump towers, piping systems, and other structural fittings, welding and sealing arrangements. Additionally, participate in equipment shop tests, and verify LNG boil-off warranties. Ensure that the ships fully meet the expectations of the shareholders and are in accordance with the Shipbuilding Contract Agreement, Specifications, approved plans, and the various memorandums of agreement. Confirm that all equipment and systems are properly installed and commissioned. Attend all properly scheduled inspections, commissioning(s), tests, demonstrations, and trials in accordance with the shipbuilder's published schedule for these items as assigned in his scope of work. Coordinate site activities with other Inspectors as may be required. Ensure that all shareholder SHES policies are fully implemented and adhered to and acts to bring all areas of concern to the immediate attention of the Safety Coordinator and the Site Team Manager. Identify all SHES issues or concerns to the immediate attention of the Safety Coordinator and the Site Team Manager. Coordinate work to bring each vessel into service as per schedule.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures: Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, and procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Others: Carry out any other related duties as directed by Cryogenic Lead to support the shipbuilding initiatives and projects.
Qualifications, Experience and Job Skills
Qualifications: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Maintenance, Marine Engineering, or any other relevant discipline.
Experience: Minimum five (5) years' experience in the construction of large bulk liquid vessels, of which at least two (2) years is of direct shipbuilding experience involved with the construction of LNG carriers or equivalent experience. Comprehensive knowledge of ship design and construction business.
Job Specific Skills: Good written and spoken English language skills. Excellent interpersonal skills, to be used when dealing with individuals of various levels of authority and of diverse cultural backgrounds. Good leadership and problem-solving skills when faced with complex ship construction issues. Proficient in the use of word processor and spreadsheet software (especially Microsoft Word and Excel), including the ability to prepare professional status reports.
