Job Summary: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Career Counselor to join our team at Diyar Private Academy Dibba Early Years & Girls. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive college and career guidance to students, ensuring they are well-informed about their options and prepared for their future endeavors. Job Responsibilities: 1. Provide comprehensive career information to students, including exploration of college and career pathways. 2. Assist students in identifying their personal strengths, interests, and goals related to further education and career choices. 3. Guide students through the college entrance process, including academic planning, standardized testing, and application procedures. 4. Collaborate with teachers and school leaders to develop career-focused curriculum and activities. 5. Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to support students in making informed decisions about their academic and career pathways. 6. Develop and maintain relationships with colleges, universities, and employers to facilitate opportunities for student internships, job shadowing, and career exploration. 7. Stay informed about current trends and developments in higher education and the job market to provide relevant and up-to-date guidance to students. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor\'s degree in Counseling, Education, Psychology, or a related field. - Certification or licensure in counseling or career development preferred. - Knowledge of college admissions processes, standardized testing, and career exploration resources. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills. - Ability to work effectively with students, parents, teachers, and external stakeholders. - Experience in counseling or advising students in a school or college setting. Experience: - Minimum of 2 years of experience in career counseling, college advising, or related field. - Demonstrated success in guiding students through the college application and admissions process. - Experience working with diverse student populations and addressing individual student needs. - Familiarity with career assessment tools and resources. - Proven ability to collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to support student success. Good-to-Have Qualifications: - Master\'s degree in Counseling, Education, Psychology, or a related field. - Experience in organizing college fairs, career workshops, or other related events. - Knowledge of scholarship opportunities and financial aid resources. - Familiarity with online college application platforms and student information systems. - Experience in conducting career assessments and interest inventories with students. - Fluency in multiple languages to support a diverse student population. - Training or certification in mental health counseling or crisis intervention. - Experience working in international school settings with Emirati and expatriate student populations. Reporting Structure: The Career Counselor will report directly to the Head of Counseling Department at Diyar Private Academy Dibba Early Years & Girls. Additionally, they will collaborate closely with the school leadership team and other staff members to ensure alignment with the school\'s goals and objectives.
