- Conduct thorough patient evaluations and examinations to determine the best course of treatment
- Perform complex surgical procedures on the heart, lungs, esophagus, and other organs in the chest
- Collaborate with other medical professionals to develop treatment plans for patients
- Utilize advanced techniques and technology to enhance surgical outcomes
- Educate patients and their families about their medical condition and provide guidance on post-operative care
- Keep accurate and detailed records of patients medical history and treatment progress
- Medical degree and completion of a residency program in general surgery
- Fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery
- Valid state medical license and board certification in cardiothoracic surgery
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery
- Excellent surgical skills and knowledge of advanced techniques and technology
- Strong communication, decision-making, and critical thinking skills
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach to patient care
