Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced CCS Transaction Lead to join its CCS Project Development team. The wider team was established to help achieve the company's low carbon ambitions and meet its decarbonization targets. They have so far consolidated into Renewables, Hydrogen, and Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) verticals, with the broad vision to nurture robust and sustainable global businesses by capitalizing on emerging opportunities in strategic growth markets.The CCS Transaction Lead will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing and executing strategies to advance the commercial viability of CCS into global markets. This important role will also negotiate definitive agreements and help in screening, analyzing, planning and leading transactions from origination to final investment and post transaction.Key Responsibilities- Conduct market research; and analyze industry trends, regulatory landscapes, and competitive dynamics.- Identify, develop and establish long-term partnerships with local and international entities to promote new business and execute investment opportunities.- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align business development and transaction activities with target objectives.- Determine the scope and objectives of transactions, offering commercialized solutions to meet the business requirements.- Support pre-feasibility and feasibility studies to determine the viability of CCS projects.- Lead the development of business offering packages to potential investors and partners.- Prepare transaction approval documents at each stage, and manage the required functional reviews and approvals.- Lead cross-functional transaction project teams across all related activities, from origination to final investment and post transaction.- Interact with financial advisors and lenders; as well as environmental, commercial and technical consultants.- Present CCS opportunities and updates to Corporate and Executive management.- Organize and participate in industry networking events and engagement sessions for business development purposes.- Improve transaction processes, and apply best practices and lessons learned.- Work with government agencies as required.- Share knowledge with and mentor junior professionals.Minimum Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Economics or related discipline; an MBA or a relevant advanced degree is strongly preferred.- Experience of related professional experience in commercial roles, with a proven track record of: analyzing companies and screening potential investors and partners; negotiating definitive agreements; and screening, analyzing, planning and leading transactions from origination to final investment and post transaction.- Proven ability to coordinate with legal counsel and other advisors to successfully develop commercial agreements.- Proven ability to foster, develop and manage internal and external cross-cultural relationships.- Proven ability to successfully collaborate with multinational teams.
