1. Key Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of a CAD Operator includes creating detailed 2D or 3D designs using CAD software. These designs serve as vital blueprints for manufacturing and construction projects. CAD Operators regularly collaborate with engineers and architects by converting hand-drawn sketches into digital formats, adjusting the designs based on feedback, and ensuring documentation complies with industry standards. They must also manage and store all drawings securely, update existing digital files to reflect changes, and occasionally assist in project presentations, supplying visual materials that compliment project proposals and reports.
2. Tasks and Duties
CAD Operators must be adept in a range of tasks that support project development. This includes:
n Drafting technical drawings based on specifications from project leaders.
n Revising models and drawings to comply with changes during the construction or manufacturing process.
n Maintaining accurate records and managing drawing archives.
n Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and quality standards.
n Using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Revit proficiently to execute designs.
n Working closely with other team members to ensure accuracy and feasibility of designs.
n Conducting site visits when necessary to better understand project dynamics and requirements.
3. Education and Experience Requirements
l Minimum 5 years experience as CAD operator/drafter.
l At least an associate degree in Computer-Aided Design, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
l Experience in a related field, such as architecture, engineering, or manufacturing, preferable oil and gas engineering with ADNOC.
