The primary role involves prepping and maintaining the cables within the group inventory across the departments and as directed by the Head of Department or Operations Director ensuring all events have the correct equipment delivered to site within the scheduled time slots. To work as part of a team and be responsible for inspecting, repairing and testing all electrical to the highest quality standards, whilst maintaining full and accurate records of all work completed. Qualifications
Minimum 3yrs experience with an Electronics background preferably at degree level with advanced soldering abilities. Previous experience working in the AV industry is desirable. Competent in the use of hand and light power tools for cutting, stripping and crimping. Excellent knowledge of electrical safety at work and safe working practices. Demonstratable knowledge of power distribution and electrical safety at work. A good understanding of repairing all types of cable within a warehouse environment. Excellent diagnostic and fault finding skills The role requires skill in using unleaded solder. Computer literate in Windows applications. Methodical and keen to learn within the department and willing to keep others informed and updated. High level of accuracy andattention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Able to prioritise daily work load. Ability to work in a team or on your own initiative within strict time constraints. Ability to understand and comply with the Company's Health and Safety Rules. Ability to follow and undertake safe lifting practices as instructed. Prepared to work additional hours when necessary. Positive attitude to extra duties and new challenges. Reliable with a good timekeeping record. Responsibilities
Establish routine safety checks of all cables ensuring all cables are fit for use and annual PAT testing is up to date. Maintain the cable department and ensure profecient de-prep and prep of cables. Re-stock cables correctly according to standards set forth. Participate in the loading and unloading of equipment from delivery vehicles. Inform the relevant Head of Department of any shortages or issues with equipment / consumables for forthcoming jobs. Ensure correct equipment entry onto the equipment rental software, including bar codes. Assist in the undertaking of stock cycle counts with operational departments when scheduled Assist department technicians with service requests and technical support. Ensure workshop tools, equipment and parts storage are well maintained and the Head of Department is kept informed of stock shortages of parts required.. Undertake repair activities at other locations if required in planned or emergency situations. Ensure that the department is kept clean and tidy and to avoid Health and Safety risks. Discuss and liaise with colleagues regarding the workload in line with incoming repair or requirements to ensure that deadlines are met as directed by the Head of Department. Repairing mechanical sub-assemblies ensuring a methodical approach is maintained which provides consistent results. Maintain the highest level of operational and technical expertise regarding audio viusal cables. Ensure that complete and accurate records are maintained of all items in service following service checklists and ensuring to add any information which may be useful in the future. Ensure that the Company's policies, rules, procedures and obligations are observed in carrying out the above duties. Fulfil any other reasonable task required by the company Report any health and safety issues to the Operations Manager. .
