Job Summary:



We are seeking a strategic and trend-savvy

Buyer - Handbag

to join our team. This role is responsible for selecting, purchasing, and managing handbag assortments that align with our brand vision, customer preferences, and business objectives. The Buyer will collaborate closely with design, planning, and marketing teams to ensure a compelling and profitable handbag collection that drives sales and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities: Buying & Merchandising:



Develop and execute seasonal handbag buying strategies based on trend analysis, sales performance, and customer insights. Curate a balanced assortment of handbags across price points, materials, styles, and brands (if applicable). Negotiate costs, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors to maximize profitability. Monitor and analyze sales data to adjust strategies, optimize inventory, and maximize margins.

Trend & Market Analysis:



Stay ahead of fashion trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify new opportunities. Conduct market visits, attend trade shows, and maintain relationships with suppliers to source innovative and in-demand handbag styles. Partner with designers and suppliers to develop exclusive products that enhance brand differentiation.

Financial & Inventory Management:



Develop and manage Open-to-Buy (OTB) plans and category budgets. Collaborate with planning teams to ensure proper stock levels, allocations, and replenishment strategies. Track and manage markdowns and promotions to optimize profitability and sell-through rates.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:



Work closely with marketing and visual merchandising teams to create compelling product stories and in-store/online presentations. Partner with e-commerce teams to ensure strong digital representation and conversion for handbags. Align with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries and resolve any fulfillment issues.

Qualifications & Requirements:



Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or a related field. 3-5+ years of buying experience, preferably in handbags, accessories, or fashion retail. Strong understanding of retail math, OTB, margin optimization, and inventory planning. Excellent negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills. Deep knowledge of handbag trends, materials, and customer preferences. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and merchandising/planning systems. Ability to work in a fast-paced, data-driven environment with strong attention to detail.
