: Building Management System (BMS) Specialist
Position Overview
The Building Management System (BMS) Specialist in a Fire Safety Company is responsiblefor the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of BMS solutions specifically focused on fire safety systems. The role requires extensive knowledge of BMS technologies, fire safety standards, and regulatory requirements to ensure that all systems operate efficiently and provide maximum protection.
Key Responsibilities
1.System Design and Implementation
a) Design and develop BMS solutions tailored to fire safety requirements.
b) Collaborate with project teams to integrate BMS with existing fire safety systems.
c) Oversee the installation and commissioning of BMS equipment and software.
2. Maintenance and Troubleshooting
a) Perform regular maintenance and updates to BMS to ensure optimal functionality.
b) Diagnose and resolve issues with BMS hardware and software.
c) Provide technical support and troubleshoot problems related to fire safety
integration.
3. Compliance and Safety
a) Ensure all BMS installations comply with local and national fire safety regulations
and standards.
b) Conduct risk assessments and safety audits for BMS installations.
c) Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fire safety standards and best practices.
4. Technical Support and Training
a) Provide training to clients and internal staff on the operation and maintenance of
BMS.
b) Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation and user manuals.
c) Offer ongoing technical support and assistance to clients.
5. Client Relations and Project Management
- Liaise with clients to understand their specific fire safety needs and provide tailored BMS
solutions.
- Prepare and present project proposals, reports, and system performance data to clients.
- Manage BMS projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and client
satisfaction.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in BMS design and implementation,
preferably in a fire safety context.
Technical Skills:
a) Proficiency in BMS software and hardware, including programming and configuration.
b) Strong understanding of fire safety systems and integration with BMS.
c) Experience with networked systems and protocols used in BMS (e.g., BACnet, Modbus).
Certifications: Relevant certifications in BMS, fire safety, or electrical systems are preferred.
Soft Skills:
a) Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

c) Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions:
a) This position may require occasional travel to client sites.
