About Job

The job purpose of a Broadcast Engineer is to ensure the smooth operation of all technical aspects related to broadcasting from an Outside Broadcasting (OB) van. This role involves setting up, configuring, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting broadcasting equipment to deliver high-quality audio and video feeds during live events. The Broadcast Engineer collaborates closely with the production team to coordinate technical elements, ensuring a seamless and professional broadcast.

• Setup and Configuration : Set up and configure broadcasting equipment, calibrate devices, perform pre-event checks
• Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, provide emergency repairs
• Operation During Live Events: Operate broadcast equipment, monitor broadcast quality, make real-time adjustments during events
• Collaboration with Production Team: Work with production teams, facilitate communication, support production needs
• Signal Transmission: Manage signal transmission, ensure signal quality, monitor transmission equipment
• Equipment Management: Maintain inventory, ensure equipment security, keep detailed records of usage and maintenance
• Technical Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, update records
• Compliance and Safety: Adhere to regulations, implement safety protocols, conduct safety checks
• Training and Development: Train team members, stay updated with industry trends, incorporate new technologies
• On-Site Coordination: Coordinate logistics with event organizers, manage setup and dismantling of OB van at event sites

•Qualifications •

• Educational Degree Degree in Broadcast Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Technical Certifications
• Relevant certifications for broadcasting equipment or technologies (e.g., A/V system certifications, specific broadcasting equipment certifications).
• 10 years of experience in broadcast engineering or a related field. Specific experience with OB van operations is preferred.
• In-depth understanding of audio and video equipment, transmission systems, and broadcasting technologies.
• Knowledge of operating cameras, audio mixers, video switchers, and transmission equipment.
• Techniques for diagnosing technical problems, performing repairs, and conducting routine maintenance.
• Understanding of signal transmission processes, including maintaining signal stability and quality.
• Knowledge of industry regulations, standards, and safety protocols related to broadcasting.
