Job Description

BRICK LAYING ACTIVITIES

To perform general civil maintenance for the cement plant, labor accommodation camps and Managerial Accommodation villas and ensure minimal wastage of material and time.

To assist and carry out civil maintenance tasks such as bricklaying, concrete foundation works, installation and removal and repairing damaged building works as per instructions given.

To participate during scheduled Kiln maintenance/shutdown and perform brick removal and bricklaying installation and aligning activities for the progression of the Kiln performance.

To ensure the efficient work requirements in all aspect/areas of bricklaying.

To put or lay bricks, stone and other masonry units in building and fireplaces, patios, walls or walkways.

To read and interpret the sketches and blueprints.

To install firebricks in furnaces and incinerators.

To cut and trim bricks using hammers or chisels or masonry saws and other hand and power tools

To do Lining or relining furnaces and boilers, kilns and similar installations using acid-resistant bricks, concretes, plastics or other materials

To restoring, cleaning or painting existing brick structures

HEALTH & SAFETY

Compliance and adherence to cautious working practices and methods when operating machines and equipments to execute civil works' tasks, and complying to all health and safety procedures and policies

To carry out Plant housekeeping activities, along with cleaning the machinery equipments and responsible for removing all accumulated dust fragments from them.

To ensure to wear and abide on wearing the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in work areas it requires.

REPORTS & COMMUNICATION

To provide reports and maintain communication of all the daily progress of activities assigned and informing any irregularities occurred on the designated areas to immediate Supervisor

OTHER ASSIGNED TASK

To accomplish other tasks that maybe assigned by HOD from time to time

Educational Qualification

Graduate at least of Secondary Education

Work Experience

Minimum of three (3) years and maximum of five (5) on the same field

Job Specification

Knowledgeable and highly experience in bricklaying in cement industry

General Skills

Can communicate effectively in English - written and spoken

Hardworking

Good physical built Can read and interpret drawings and blueprints

Can work manually or with hand and power tools

Knowledge with the properties of various mortars and other bonding materials and applies the knowledge in different projects

Can work independently or with other construction crew

Ability to solve problems with the use of various materials and methods
