Job Title: Bookkeeper/Accounting Staff
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Bookkeeper. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, processing transactions, and ensuring accuracy in financial documentation. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, proficiency in relevant software, and excellent organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
1. Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
2. Reconcile entries and ensure accuracy in financial statements.
3. Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
4. Manage and maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers, journals, and financial statements.
5. Prepare financial reports and summaries for review by management.
6. Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
7. Handle payroll processing and related activities.
8. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting regulations and standards.
9. Collaborate with internal teams to address financial inquiries and provide support.
10. Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
2. Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial practices.
3. Proficiency in accounting software (ERP, SAP, Dynamics), and MS Excel.
4. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
5. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
6. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
7. Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance.
8. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
9. Knowledge of UAE Tax Regulations - Familiarity with local tax laws and regulations applicable in the United Arab Emirates, including Value Added Tax (VAT) requirements.
10. Understanding of Free Zone Regulations - Awareness of the regulations specific to business operations within Dubai's various free zones, if applicable to the company.
11. Experience with Multicurrency Transactions - Given Dubai's international business environment, experience in handling transactions involving multiple currencies may be beneficial.
12. Proficiency in Arabic - While not always mandatory, knowledge of Arabic can be advantageous for effective communication with local stakeholders.
13. Knowledge of Dubai's Business Culture - Understanding and adapting to the business culture and practices in Dubai, including local accounting standards and business etiquette.
14. Experience with E-Government Services - Familiarity with using online government services provided by the UAE government for financial reporting and compliance.
15. Certifications from Local Authorities - Any certifications or training programs related to accounting or bookkeeping from local authorities or organizations in Dubai.
16. Awareness of Economic Substance Regulations - Understanding the Economic Substance Regulations that require certain companies to have substantial activities conducted in the UAE.
17. Understanding of Dubai Chamber of Commerce Procedures - Knowledge of processes related to the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, particularly if the company needs to register or renew its membership.
18. Knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) - Dubai often follows IFRS; therefore, familiarity with these standards is beneficial.
