Job Summary

The Captain is responsible for the safe operation and navigation of the company's boat. The role involves pre-delivery inspection (PDI), boat inspection, troubleshooting, ensuring compliance with maritime laws, and maintaining the vessel to ensure optimal performance and safety. The captain will also interact with clients to ensure a high level of service and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections and tests of boats before delivery to customers.
• Deliver boats to customers, ensuring proper handling and safety procedures.
• Provide in-depth training and orientation to customers on boat operation, maintenance, and safety protocols.
• Address and resolve any customer concerns or issues related to boat performance or maintenance.
• Coordinate with the service department for more complex repairs or upgrades.
• Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, service performed, and any follow-up actions required.
• Promote additional services, accessories, and upgrades to enhance the customer experience.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.

Boat Inspection and Certification:

• Perform comprehensive inspections of the vessel to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
• Ensure that all necessary boat certifications and licenses are up to date and properly documented.

Navigation and Operation:

• Safely navigate and operate the vessel in various weather conditions and waterways.
• Plan and follow the most efficient and safe routes.
• Monitor weather conditions and make necessary adjustments to the voyage plan.

Safety and Compliance:

• Ensure all operations comply with maritime laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain and inspect safety equipment, including life vests, fire extinguishers, and first aid kits.

Vessel Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

• Oversee the maintenance and repair of the vessel to ensure it is seaworthy and in excellent condition.
• Conduct PDI, inspections, and preventive maintenance checks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and navigational issues.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams and schedule repairs or installations as needed.

Boat Inspection and Certification:

• Perform comprehensive inspections of the vessel to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
• Ensure that all necessary boat certifications and licenses are up to date and properly documented.

Record Keeping:

• Maintain accurate logs of voyages, incidents, inspections, and maintenance activities.
• Prepare and submit reports as required by the company and regulatory authorities.

Qualifications

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent; degree in maritime studies or a related field is preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a boat captain.
• Proven experience navigating various types of vessels.

Certifications:

• Valid captain's license issued by the relevant maritime authority.
• Valid UAE Driving License
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Other relevant maritime certifications as required by local regulations.

Skills:

• Strong leadership and management abilities.
• Excellent navigational and seamanship skills.
• Proficient in maritime safety regulations and procedures.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and make quick decisions.
• Technical skills for troubleshooting and maintaining vessel systems.

Working Conditions

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if required.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
• Physical stamina to handle the demands of operating and maintaining a vessel.

Compensation

• Salary: AED 3,500 inclusive of all allowances.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to AED3,500.00 per month

• Boat driving: 2 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• UAE Driving license (Required)
