SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:The Biomedical Engineering Technician is responsible for maintaining the Dental Equipment in the College of Dentistry to ensure the well-functioning of all the equipment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performing routine maintenance checks on Biomedical equipment (Dental Equipment).
Install new dental equipment and make the required adjustments as per manufacturer specifications.
Training staff members and students to operate and acre for equipment with a physical demonstration.
Updating the inventory, placing orders for dental equipment or spare-parts as required and verifying deliveries.
Preparing the technical reports and reviewing the technical offers.
Repairing faculty machinery on a routine basis and tending to emergency repairs as needed.
Maintaining a daily maintenance report about the breakdowns in the College.
Ensuring that all equipment meets company standards of safety and quality, and its compliance with relevant laws.
Communicating and following up with suppliers, and companies and reporting any breakout.
Performing other duties as assigned by the line manager.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering or technology, or a similar field.
A minimum of 3 years experience as a biomedical technician.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex information in layman's terms.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of the structure and uses of dental equipment.
Technical skills and the ability to repair machinery with meticulous attention to detail.
