Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented BIM Specialist - MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) to join our team!


Key Responsibilities:




1. BIM Model Development & Management:


• Develop, update, and maintain accurate 3D models for MEP systems (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) in accordance with project specifications and BIM standards.
• Coordinate with other disciplines (Architectural, Structural, Civil) to ensure seamless integration of the MEP systems within the overall design.
• Support the clash detection process to resolve design conflicts early in the project lifecycle.

2. Coordination & Collaboration:


• Work closely with project engineers, architects, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure MEP design intent is accurately represented in the BIM model.
• Participate in coordination meetings to address design or construction issues, proposing solutions based on BIM data.
• Ensure that MEP designs comply with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.



3. Technical Support & Troubleshooting:


• Provide technical support for project teams using BIM software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks etc...) and assist in troubleshooting model-related issues.
• Conduct regular model audits to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and quality of BIM data.



4. Documentation & Deliverables:


• Generate construction drawings, schedules, and reports directly from the BIM model.
• Ensure that project deliverables such as drawings and models are issued in accordance with established deadlines and quality standards.



5. BIM Standards & Best Practices:


• Ensure compliance with industry BIM standards (e.g., ISO 19650) and company-specific BIM execution plans.
• Implement best practices for model management, data exchange, and document control to improve project efficiency.



6. Training & Development:


• Provide training and guidance to project teams on BIM tools and workflows.
• Stay updated with advancements in BIM technology and workflows, integrating new tools or methodologies as appropriate.



Required Qualifications:




Education:


• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing Engineering, Architecture, or related field.



Experience:


• Minimum 10-15 years of experience in the construction industry with a focus on MEP systems and BIM management.

Technical Skills:


• Proficient in BIM software, particularly Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks, and Dynamo etc...
• Experience in clash detection and resolution.
• Strong understanding of MEP systems and integration with architectural and structural models.
• Familiarity with industry BIM standards (ISO 19650) and project execution plans.



Soft Skills:


• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.



Preferred Qualifications:


• Professional certification in BIM (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit MEP).
• Experience in large-scale construction projects, including commercial, residential, and industrial developments.
• Familiarity with energy analysis, sustainability considerations, or other advanced BIM functions.
