Job Title: BIM Electrical Engineer/Designer

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented BIM Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating, managing, and coordinating electrical systems models using BIM software to support the design and construction of various building projects. This role requires a deep understanding of electrical design and a strong proficiency in BIM tools and software to deliver high-quality models and designs.

Key Responsibilities:

• BIM Modelling:

Develop and maintain detailed 3D models of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, data communication systems, and other electrical components using BIM software (Revit, AutoCAD MEP, etc.).

• Collaboration & Coordination:

Work closely with architects, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, and other design disciplines to integrate electrical systems within the overall building model, ensuring seamless coordination across all disciplines.

• Design Support:

Assist in the preparation of electrical design documentation including layouts, schematics, wiring diagrams, and circuiting, ensuring compliance with local codes and standards.

• Clash Detection & Resolution:

Conduct clash detection and resolve conflicts between electrical and other building systems (e.g., mechanical, plumbing) using BIM software, ensuring an efficient and error-free design.

• Quality Control:

Ensure all models and drawings are accurate, up-to-date, and meet the project's quality standards. Perform model validation and review to minimize errors in the construction process.

• Project Documentation & Reporting:

Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, including design reports, model updates, and progress reports. Ensure timely communication with the project team regarding project status and issues.

• Model Updates & Revisions:

Regularly update models to reflect changes in design or construction and provide revised documentation as needed.

• Training & Development:

Stay current with industry trends and advancements in BIM software and electrical systems. Participate in training sessions to enhance personal skills and team knowledge.

Required Qualifications:

• Education:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related field.

• Experience:

3+ years of experience in electrical design or BIM coordination, preferably in building design and construction projects.

• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in BIM software (Revit, AutoCAD MEP, Navisworks, etc.)
• Knowledge of electrical design principles and systems (lighting, power distribution, fire alarms, etc.)
• Familiarity with BIM standards and workflows.
• Understanding of electrical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEC).
• Other Skills:
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with energy modeling, simulations, or electrical load analysis.
• Familiarity with other design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP).
• Certification in BIM-related tools or processes (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional).

• Dubai: Reliably commute or willing to relocate with an employer-provided relocation package (Preferred)
