Job Overview
The BIM Designer shall be responsible for creating and managing Building Information Models (BIM) to support the design, construction, and management of projects. You will work closely with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop detailed and accurate BIM models that enhance project efficiency and coordination. Your role involves integrating design and construction data to ensure project objectives are met, while adhering to industry standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
BIM Model Creation & Management:
Develop and maintain detailed BIM models for various projects, including architectural, structural, and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) systems.
Ensure BIM models are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with project requirements and standards.
Integrate data from multiple sources to create cohesive and comprehensive models.
Collaboration & Coordination:
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure model integration and resolve design conflicts.
Participate in coordination meetings and design reviews to discuss model updates, issues, and solutions.
Manage model exchanges and data sharing between project stakeholders.
Project Documentation:
Generate and update project documentation from BIM models, including drawings, schedules, and reports.
Ensure that all documentation is accurate and consistent with the BIM model.
Quality Control:
Implement and follow BIM standards and protocols to ensure model quality and consistency.
Conduct regular reviews and quality checks on BIM models to identify and address issues.
Software & Technology:
Utilize BIM software and tools (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360) to create and manage models.
Stay updated on the latest BIM technologies and best practices to enhance project outcomes.
Training & Support:
Provide support and training to team members on BIM software and processes.
Assist with the development and implementation of BIM standards and workflows.
Problem-Solving & Innovation:
Identify opportunities for improving BIM processes and workflows.
Propose innovative solutions to enhance project efficiency and coordination.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in BIM design or a related role.
Skills:
Proficiency in BIM software (e.g., Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360).
Strong understanding of building design and construction processes.
Experience with model coordination and clash detection.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with design and Construction projects, e.g., commercial, residential, infrastructure.
Certification or training in BIM-related areas (e.g., Autodesk Certified Professional).
GCC work Experience preferred
