Key Responsibilities:
• Player Development:
• Design and deliver age-appropriate training sessions to enhance players' technical skills, tactical understanding, and physical conditioning.
• Provide individualized coaching to address players' strengths and areas for improvement.
• Promote a positive and supportive atmosphere that encourages players' development and enjoyment of the game.
• Training and Practice:
• Plan and conduct regular practice sessions, including drills, skills training, and team exercises.
• Implement practice plans that focus on fundamental skills, game strategies, and teamwork.
• Evaluate and adjust training programs based on player progress and needs.
• Game Preparation and Strategy:
• Prepare players for games by developing game plans and strategies that suit the team's strengths and the opponents' weaknesses.
• Analyze game footage and performance to provide feedback and make necessary adjustments.
• Conduct pre-game and post-game reviews with players to discuss performance and areas for improvement.
• Team Management:
• Foster a positive team environment by promoting teamwork, discipline, and respect among players.
• Manage team dynamics and resolve conflicts to maintain a harmonious and focused team atmosphere.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, and academy staff to ensure clear understanding of goals and expectations.
• Player Welfare and Safety:
• Ensure all training and game activities are conducted in a safe manner, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
• Monitor players' physical and emotional well-being, providing support as needed.
• Implement injury prevention strategies and coordinate with medical staff for player care.
• Administrative Duties:
• Organize and manage team schedules, including practices, games, and travel arrangements.
• Maintain accurate records of player attendance, performance, and progress.
• Coordinate with academy administration for equipment, facilities, and other resources.
• Community and Academy Engagement:
• Represent the academy positively in community events, outreach programs, and public appearances.
• Engage with parents and guardians to build strong relationships and support player development.
• Promote the academy's values and objectives within the community.
Qualifications:
• Experience: Previous coaching experience, especially with youth or developmental teams, is highly preferred.
• Skills: Strong coaching skills with a focus on fundamental development, effective communication, and motivational abilities.
• Education: A degree in sports management, physical education, or a related field is beneficial. Coaching certifications specific to youth or academy levels are often required.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to demonstrate basketball techniques and participate in practices as needed.
