Barista

• Prepare and Serve Beverages: Prepare coffee, espresso-based drinks, tea, and other beverages to the highest quality standards.
• Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, take orders, and provide recommendations based on their preferences. Ensure customers have a positive and pleasant experience.
• Cash Handling: Accurately process payments through the register, including cash, card, and mobile payments. Handle customer transactions and provide correct change.
• Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the coffee bar, equipment, and seating area clean and organized. Follow hygiene and safety standards.
• Product Knowledge: Stay informed about menu items, coffee blends, and special offers to effectively communicate with customers and suggest drinks.
• Restocking Supplies: Monitor inventory levels and restock supplies (e.g., coffee beans, milk, syrups) as needed. Notify management when stock needs replenishing.
• Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain coffee machines, grinders, blenders, and other equipment. Perform routine cleaning and troubleshooting when necessary.
• Team Collaboration: Work with other team members to ensure smooth and efficient service during busy hours. Assist in training new staff members.
• Upsell and Promote: Promote new products or specials to customers and encourage them to try different beverages or food items.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Previous experience as a Barista or in a customer service role preferred, but not required.
• Skills:
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and customer service orientation
• Basic math skills for handling cash and making change
• Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and work in a fast-paced, noisy environment.
• Certifications: Barista training or certification is a plus but not always required.
