Job Description

Barista is responsible for preparing and serving coffee, espresso drinks, and other beverages to customers in a friendly and efficient manner. In addition to beverage preparation, baristas may also handle customer service, maintain cleanliness, and ensure that all items are presented according to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Beverage Preparation

: Prepare a wide variety of coffee-based drinks, including espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, and specialty beverages according to customer preferences. Ensure consistency in drink quality and taste by following standardized recipes and procedures. Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee equipment to create high-quality beverages.

Customer Service

: Greet customers warmly and provide excellent service, making recommendations when needed and ensuring a pleasant customer experience. Take and process customer orders accurately, handling special requests or modifications in drink preferences. Handle cash and electronic payments, giving accurate change and maintaining a clean and organized register.

Product Knowledge

: Maintain knowledge of the coffee menu, including different blends, brewing methods, and special drinks. Stay informed about any seasonal offerings, promotions, or new products, and communicate them to customers effectively.

Cleanliness and Maintenance

: Ensure the cafe or coffee station is kept clean, organized, and sanitary at all times, including equipment, counters, and seating areas. Clean and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other equipment, ensuring proper function and hygiene standards. Restock supplies as needed, including coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other ingredients.

Inventory Management

: Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, syrups, and other supplies, reporting low stock levels to the supervisor or manager. Help with inventory counts, receiving deliveries, and organizing storage areas.

Team Collaboration

: Work closely with fellow baristas, kitchen staff, and managers to ensure smooth operations during busy periods. Assist with training new baristas and sharing best practices for preparing beverages and providing excellent customer service.

Health & Safety Compliance

: Adhere to food safety and health regulations, ensuring all beverages are made with clean utensils and safe ingredients. Follow all workplace safety guidelines, especially when working with hot liquids or equipment.

Education & Experience:

Education

: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience

: Previous experience as a barista or in a food and beverage environment is preferred but not required.
Certifications (if applicable):

Food Safety Certification

: Depending on the region, a food handling or safety certification may be required.

Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED3,000.00 per month
