As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining a clean and inviting cafe environment. Your role is pivotal in creating a memorable customer experience that reflects the cafe's brand and values.
Key Responsibilities
Beverage Preparation
• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages to customers according to standardized recipes and customer preferences.
• Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other cafe equipment.
• Ensure beverages are served with attention to detail, consistency, and quality.
Customer Service
• Greet customers warmly, answer questions about the menu, and provide recommendations based on their preferences.
• Take accurate orders and handle special requests with a positive attitude.
• Resolve customer complaints or escalate issues to management as needed.
Inventory and Stock Management
• Monitor inventory levels for coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies.
• Restock items as necessary and communicate low-stock items to the supervisor.
• Assist with receiving and organizing inventory deliveries.
Hygiene and Cleanliness
• Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace, including counters, machines, and seating areas.
• Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling and storage procedures.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and utensils regularly.
Team Collaboration
• Work as part of a team to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and management to ensure customer satisfaction.
Cash Handling
• Operate the cash register, process payments, and provide accurate change.
• Balance cash drawers and maintain transaction records.
Additional Duties
• Participate in cafe promotions and events as required.
• Suggest ideas for improving menu offerings or customer experience.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Cafe Manager.
Qualifications and Skills
• Previous experience as a Barista or in a similar customer-facing role is a plus.
• Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and equipment is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management.
