Job summary

Responsible for preparing and serving coffee and other beverages to customers in the coffee shop. The duties include working with other team members to help take orders, make drinks and provide timely service to customers.

Main duties

• Welcomes customers by determining their coffee interests and needs
• Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu; answering customer inquiries
• Knowledgeable about coffee grinding and brewing equipment, differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines; brewing equipment operation.
• Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as, expresso, expresso lungo, caffe latte, and cappuccino, etc.
• Generates revenues by attracting new customers; cross-selling new and expanded services and products
• Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for coffee bar.
• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations
• Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading coffee, retail trade, and food service publications; maintaining personal networks
• Enhances coffee shop reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
• Accepts payment and passes to Restaurant Cashier for processing or processes himself if no cashier available
• Knowledgeable in serving techniques, etiquette and proper ways to serve customers in a professional manner, actively tries to improve owns professional service
• Addresses guest complaints immediately to Supervisor if available, otherwise resolves problem and reports it accordingly
• Team player and builds a good relationship with the whole team
• Maintain appropriate standards of conduct, dress, hygiene, uniform appearance and professionalism
• Follow company policies and procedures, demonstrates efficient teamwork and contribute to the achievement of business goals
• Any additional duties and tasks assigned by your supervisors that are required for the smooth running of your department

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

Diploma or High School or GED in Hospitality or certification in culinary arts

Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in the same field

Previous training for Essential Food & Safety in the UAE (EFST), Food Hygiene, etc.

Familiar with Cashiering skills, operating POS System, basic PC knowledge and familiarity with electronic equipment (e.g. cash register, scanners, money counters etc.)

Familiar with handling payment, collecting cash from the customer, credit card payment, etc.

Strong stamina because this job will require you to stand in a long period

Has full knowledge of hygiene, hotel safety, and emergency procedure

Ability to work well with others

Ability to accept criticism and work well under pressure

Salary package: 1,800 to 2,000 AED (depending on experience) +250 AED additional allowance upon completion of 6 mos. + sharing accommodation (no-live out allowance) + 3 x Meals/day + free uniform + free transportation inside the company + Every 2 years ticket cash (roundtrip to home country) + visa & medical insurance will be provided
