Azure Cloud Engineer

Role Summary
This is a hands-on, full-spectrum Azure Cloud Engineer role. You'll own cloud solutions from
design through deployment and support
, ensuring our clients--primarily in the hospitality industry--get the performance, security, and reliability they need.
Whether you're optimizing infrastructure for a group of high-end restaurants or designing a secure and scalable Azure landing zone for a luxury hotel chain, your work will have real-world, high-impact visibility.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Architecture & Design
Design and deliver secure, scalable, and resilient Azure environments tailored to hospitality operations.
Develop Azure landing zones, enterprise network topologies, and hybrid connectivity.
Recommend and architect migration paths from on-prem or legacy systems to Azure cloud services.
Deployment & Engineering
Deploy and manage Azure services: VMs, App Services, Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Functions, and AKS.
Configure and support hybrid cloud scenarios using ExpressRoute, VPN Gateways, and Azure AD Connect.
Establish automation using ARM, Bicep, or Terraform for repeatable infrastructure deployments.
Security & Governance
Implement and manage security controls (Microsoft Defender, Azure Security Center, Azure Sentinel).
Maintain compliance with hospitality industry standards and best practices.
Set up identity and access policies using RBAC, Conditional Access, and Azure AD roles.
DevOps & Automation
Build CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub for infrastructure and application deployment.
Automate operational tasks using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and Logic Apps.
Support agile development environments with rapid provisioning and rollback capabilities.
Operations & Support
Serve as an escalation point for complex Azure support issues (2nd/3rd line).
Monitor cloud environments and troubleshoot issues proactively using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
Participate in an on-call rotation for critical systems and ensure high availability of services.
Optimization & Cost Management
Review and manage Azure cost reporting, budgeting, and resource tagging for cost transparency.
Propose cost-saving opportunities through resource sizing, auto-scaling, and Reserved Instances.
Collaboration & Client Engagement
Interface with internal teams and client stakeholders to gather requirements and present solutions.
Support pre-sales activities with technical input and solution design where needed.
Produce high-quality documentation for environments, policies, and architecture decisions.
