Job Summary:
The Workshop Floor Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the workshop floor, ensuring that all work is carried out efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. This role involves managing a team of technicians, coordinating workflow, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of workshop technicians and support staff.
• Allocate tasks and monitor the progress of work to ensure deadlines are met.
• Provide training and guidance to team members to enhance their skills and performance.
• Plan and organize the daily operations of the workshop floor.
• Coordinate with the service advisors and workshop manager to prioritize jobs based on urgency and customer requirements.
• Ensure that all work orders are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
• Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure it meets company quality standards.
• Address any issues or discrepancies in work quality and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure that all tools and equipment are maintained in good working order.
• Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Promote a culture of safety within the workshop and conduct regular safety meetings.
• Maintain a clean and organized workshop environment.
• Interact with customers as needed to explain work performed and address any concerns.
• Work closely with the service advisors to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.
• Monitor and manage the inventory of parts and materials to ensure availability for ongoing jobs.
• Coordinate with the parts department to order and replenish stock as needed.
• Prepare and submit reports on workshop activities, including job completion rates, technician performance, and any issues encountered.
Qualifications:
• Diploma or degree in Automotive Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an automotive workshop environment, with at least 1 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in using workshop management software and tools.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
