We are looking for a skilled Automotive Painter to join our team at Kings Auto Garage. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and a passion for automotive refinishing. The Automotive Painter will be responsible for preparing vehicles for painting, mixing and applying paint, and ensuring a high-quality finish. Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation:
- Inspect vehicles to identify necessary repairs and paintwork.
- Prepare surfaces for painting by removing old paint, sanding, masking, and cleaning.
- Fill and repair dents, scratches, and other imperfections.
- Painting:
- Mix and match paint colors to achieve the desired color and consistency.
- Apply primers, basecoats, and clearcoats using spray guns and other painting equipment.
- Ensure an even and smooth finish, free from defects such as drips, sags, and dust.
- Finishing:
- Inspect painted surfaces for any flaws and perform touch-ups as needed.
- Buff and polish painted areas to achieve a high-gloss finish.
- Reassemble painted vehicle parts and conduct final inspections.
- Maintenance:
- Maintain painting equipment in good working condition.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Keep the workspace clean and organized.
- Proven experience as an Automotive Painter or in a similar role.
- Proficient in using various painting tools and equipment.
- Strong knowledge of automotive paint mixing and matching techniques.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to work in a standing position for extended periods.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Certification from a vocational school or completion of an apprenticeship is a plus.
- Automotive painter: 5 years (Required)
