• Diagnosing Issues : Using diagnostic tools and techniques to identify problems with vehicles.
• Repairing and Maintaining Vehicles : Performing routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections. Also, conducting major repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
• Testing Vehicle Systems : Testing the functionality of vehicle systems and components to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
• Reading and Interpreting Diagnostic Tests : Analyzing diagnostic test results and interpreting technical manuals to determine the best course of action for repairs.
• Using Tools and Equipment : Utilizing a variety of hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to complete repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Adhering to Safety Standards : Following safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for themselves and others.
• Documenting Work : Recording all repairs and maintenance performed on vehicles accurately and comprehensively.
• Customer Service : Interacting with customers to explain vehicle issues and repairs needed, providing estimates, and ensuring satisfaction with the service provided.
• Staying Updated : Keeping up-to-date with advances in automotive technology and attending training sessions as required by the employer or industry standards.
• Teamwork : Collaborating with other mechanics and automotive professionals to diagnose complex problems and complete repairs efficiently.
