Responsibilities:
- Diagnosing Vehicle Issues: Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic problems in vehicles.
- Repairing Vehicles: Perform repairs on various vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, steering, and electrical systems.
- Performing Routine Maintenance: Conduct scheduled maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks to ensure vehicles operate efficiently and safely.
- Replacing Parts: Remove and replace worn or damaged parts such as belts, hoses, spark plugs, filters, and brake pads.
- Testing Vehicle Systems: Test repaired vehicles to ensure proper functionality and performance before returning them to customers.
- Providing Estimates: Assess the extent of repairs needed and provide accurate cost estimates to customers.
- Maintaining Records: Keep detailed records of all repairs, maintenance tasks, and parts used for each vehicle serviced.
- Following Safety Procedures: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
- Staying Updated: Stay current with advancements in automotive technology and attend training sessions to improve skills and knowledge.
- Customer Service: Communicate effectively with customers, explain repair procedures, and address any concerns or questions they may have.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing various vehicle systems, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.
- Experience: Previous experience working as an automotive mechanic or in a related field is often required.
- Certifications: Possession of relevant certifications such as ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification may be preferred or required by employers.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in awkward positions.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to accurately diagnose problems and perform repairs efficiently.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions.
- Customer Service Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with customers professionally and provide exceptional service.
- Tools: Proficiency in using various hand and power tools commonly used in automotive repair
- Automobile Industry: 2 years (Required)
