Job Summary:

The Automation / Industrial Technician is responsible for the HANDS-ON maintenance, repair, and optimization of automated systems, plant equipment, and machinery used in the production of powder coating or personal and home care chemical products. This includes systems for mixing, blending, packaging, and filling. The technician ensures that production processes run smoothly, safely, and efficiently, while also minimizing downtime and adhering to quality standards. The role involves hands-on troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement of automated processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintenance & Troubleshooting :
• Perform regular maintenance on automated equipment and machinery used in the production of powder coating or personal care and home care products (mixers, filling machines, packaging systems, conveyors, etc.).
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.
• Respond quickly to production breakdowns, diagnosing issues and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Ensure that all equipment operates according to safety and performance standards.
• Automation Maintenance :
• In-charge with the installation, configuration, calibration, and programming of automated systems, including PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and other process control systems.
• Support the integration and automation of new production lines or equipment, working closely with maintenance and suppliers to ensure smooth implementation.
• Monitor and adjust automated systems to improve efficiency and optimize production flow in line with plant objectives.
• Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement :
• Work closely with the production team to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the chemical or powder coating manufacturing process, recommending and implementing solutions to improve throughput and reduce waste.
• Participate in the deployment of Good Manufacturing Practices, or other continuous improvement methodologies to enhance production performance.
• Perform data analysis on machine performance, uptime, and product quality to drive improvements and maintain compliance with quality standards.
• Safety & Compliance :
• Ensure that all maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and quality standards (e.g., GMP - Good Manufacturing Practices).
• Monitor and enforce adherence to safety standards in the use of chemicals, equipment, and machinery.
• Assist in the training of operators and staff on proper safety and equipment usage procedures.
• Ensure proper handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals and waste in accordance with environmental and regulatory guidelines.
• Documentation & Reporting :
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections, including parts used, time spent, and actions taken.
• Generate maintenance and performance reports for management to review equipment health and downtime statistics.
• Ensure all documentation is up to date, including technical drawings, manuals, and operating procedures.
• Collaboration & Support :
• Work closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure smooth plant operations.
• Provide technical training and support to operators on equipment operation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures.
• Participate in project teams for new product introductions (NPIs) and system upgrades.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

• Education :
• Associate's degree in Industrial Technology, Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Certifications in PLC programming, electrical systems, or industrial automation are a plus.
• Experience :
• 2-5 years of experience in industrial automation or maintenance in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the powder coating or chemical, personal care, or home care industry.
• Experience working with automated systems such as mixers, fillers, conveyors, packaging lines, plastic moulding machines, dryers, tanks and other process control equipment is highly desirable.
• Hands-on experience with PLCs, SCADA, HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), and related control systems.
• Familiarity with batch processing and continuous production systems is beneficial.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
