Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Draughtsman to join our construction team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings for architectural, structural, and MEP works, ensuring compliance with project specifications and local authority regulations. The role requires strong technical proficiency, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate with engineers, consultants, and site teams.

Key Responsibilities:1. Preparation of Detailed Drawings

• Develop and prepare architectural, structural based on project specifications and consultant requirements.
• Create accurate and detailed 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, and other drafting software.
• Prepare as-built drawings in coordination with the site team and project requirements.
• Ensure that all drawings are prepared according to Abu Dhabi Municipality (ADM), ADDC, ADCD, and other relevant authority standards.

2. Drawing Coordination & Revisions

• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to incorporate design changes and modifications.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure drawing accuracy.
• Track and manage drawing revisions, ensuring proper documentation of changes.
• Perform clash detection and provide coordination solutions for MEP and structural interfaces.

3. Compliance with Project Standards

• Ensure all drawings adhere to industry standards, project specifications, and consultant requirements.
• Conduct self-checks to maintain drawing quality, accuracy, and consistency.
• Stay updated with local authority guidelines and ensure compliance in drawing submittals.

4. Support for Site and Procurement Teams

• Provide technical assistance to site engineers by interpreting drawings and resolving design-related queries.
• Assist procurement teams by preparing material take-offs and quantity estimations from drawings.
• Coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure compliance with approved drawings during site inspections.

5. Document Control & Submission

• Organize and maintain an up-to-date drawing repository for all project phases.
• Work with document control systems such as Aconex or Procore for drawing submission and tracking.
• Ensure proper filing and categorization of drawings for easy retrieval and audit purposes.

6. Design Optimization & Value Engineering

• Identify potential cost savings through design modifications and propose value engineering solutions.
• Work closely with the technical team to improve construction efficiency through optimized drawing solutions.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma or Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Draughtsman in the construction industry, with experience in Abu Dhabi preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and MS Office.
• Strong knowledge of architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Familiarity with Abu Dhabi building codes and submission requirements.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
