Job Overview

An Auto Electrician in the automotive industry specializes in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and components in vehicles. This role involves diagnosing electrical faults, replacing defective components, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of a vehicle's electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnosis and Repair
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify electrical issues.
• Troubleshoot and repair faults in vehicle electrical systems, including wiring, batteries, alternators, starters, and lighting.
• Installation
• Install new electrical components and accessories such as navigation systems, stereo systems, and alarms.
• Ensure all electrical installations comply with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
• Maintenance
• Perform regular maintenance checks on vehicle electrical systems.
• Replace worn or damaged electrical parts and components.
• Conduct routine inspections to ensure all electrical components are functioning properly.
• Technical Support
• Provide technical support and advice to customers regarding vehicle electrical systems.
• Explain complex electrical issues and repairs to customers in an understandable manner.
• Safety and Compliance
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing electrical work.
• Ensure all repairs and installations meet industry standards and regulations.
• Documentation
• Maintain detailed records of repairs, installations, and maintenance work.
• Prepare reports on electrical system conditions and work performed.

Qualifications

• Education : High school diploma or equivalent. Certification from a vocational school or training program in automotive electrical systems.
• Experience : Prior experience as an auto electrician or in a related field.
• Skills :
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools and software.
• Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems and components.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in confined spaces and under vehicles.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Ability to lift and move heavy electrical components.
