The British Embassy Abu Dhabi has vacancies for two (2) Entry Clearance Managers under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI), job grade Higher Executive Officer (HEO) on a fixed-term contract for (1) one year with the possibility of renewal.The jobholder will be responsible for managing in a way that enhances the performance and develops the potential of all staff within the department, preventing immigration abuse and protecting integrity of the systems that bring communities together and improve the UK\'s competitiveness as a destination for travel, trade, migration & investment.Duties and responsibilities:
To manage resources and oversee processes to ensure that visa applications are assessed and reviewed to a high standard of decision quality that Customer Service Standards are met and exceeded and that UKVI Operating Mandate is adhered to.
To motivate and support visa section staff through effective line management, by providing practical guidance and clear goals and ensuring regular constructive dialogue and open communication.
To promote and uphold high professional standards, endorsed by personal example and encourage individual responsibility for maintaining the overall professionalism and integrity of the Visa Section.
To ensure all management controls are in place and checks are carried out in accordance with Best Practice guidelines and that statistical returns are fully and correctly completed within time limits.
To manage resources proactively to ensure an effective response to changing demands and priorities including by active change management.

Eligibility
Applicants must be able to obtain an appropriate level of UK Security Clearance and be able to obtain a valid UAE police clearance certificate. Higher clearances can be granted only to certain nationalities. For this reason, candidates must be of British, American, Australian, Canadian, or New Zealand nationality, or EU nationality in order to gain and maintain the level of clearance required.
Applications will only be considered from those who are currently residing in the UAE and with a current and valid UAE resident visa.
Applicants must be available in a full-time capacity to work on site at the British Embassy Abu Dhabi - these are not part time positions or available for remote working.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience
A strong communicator with excellent spoken and written English. Ability to express ideas and messages clearly and concisely.
Previous Entry Clearance Officer experience.
Understanding of UKVI sections/operations and UK Immigration rules.
Good working knowledge of IT, including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook).
Able to work as part of a team and be adaptable to new working methods.
Able to prioritise work effectively when under pressure.
Able to work under pressure as part of a large team and complete tasks on time and to an agreed standard
Able to remain customer focused, polite and courteous under pressure.
Able to manage own work with minimal supervision.

No accommodation and relocation expenses are payable in connection with this position.This role is for a full-time employment, on a fixed term contract basis for one (1) year, subject to six (6) months\' probationary period. The contract may be extended, subject to satisfactory performance and on on-going business requirement.The Embassy is open from Monday to Friday from 0700 to 1800 hrs. The Employee\'s normal weekly working hours are forty (40) Monday to Friday (inclusive).
